The 3rd Meeting of the 1st Session of the 13th Parliament (Winter Meeting) commenced on Monday 7th July, 2025 at 1400 hours at the Parliament Buildings. It is estimated that this meeting will last for about six weeks, that is, it will end on or around Friday 15th August, 2025. The Winter Meeting of Parliament will primarily focus on the introduction and presentation of Bills (draft laws). In line with the Constitution of Botswana, Parliament’s primary responsibility is to enact legislation that promotes peace, order and good governance. This legislative mandate is fulfilled through the presentation of Private and Government Bills by Members of Parliament. In addition to law-making, the Winter Meeting will also feature other key parliamentary business, including questions and motions.
